Your project, run by the book — start to handover
It's your land, your build, your name on it. CDM gives you duties most clients never hear about until something goes wrong. DocRide walks you through every one — and keeps the proof. Built for private developers, businesses, housing providers and local authorities alike.
What happens, step by step
Describe the project
A few plain-English questions. DocRide works out whether your project must be notified to HSE — and drafts the F10 for you if it does.
Appoint your duty-holders, properly your legal shield
Invite your Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. They upload capability evidence; appointments are written, dated and stored — your Regulation 8 checks, done visibly.
The whole supply chain, one platform complete evidence trail
Your PD builds the pre-construction information; the PC's Construction Phase Plan drafts itself from it; every subcontractor's RAMS follows — all of them on your project at no extra cost, so nothing lives in someone's inbox.
You sign off adequacy — then work starts
The law says construction can't begin until you're satisfied the plan is adequate. DocRide puts that sign-off in front of you as a clear, recorded step — with an independent consultant's review available if you want a professional's eyes first.
Handover with the file — and the proof
The health & safety file builds progressively as the project runs, not in a panic at the end. And if HSE, auditors or insurers ever ask, your entire duty trail exports as one evidence pack.
Included in your project fee
Worked out from your answers; drafted ready to submit to HSE.
PD and PC seats included — invitations, evidence upload, dated appointment records.
Every subbie your PC appoints joins your project at no extra cost — RAMS, permits, inspections, competence records, all in the trail. No per-subbie fees, ever, on client projects. Fair Usage Policy applies.
Ready-made wording requiring your PC to run all CDM documentation, RAMS and inspection records through your DocRide project — the same way clients mandate BIM platforms. Paste it into your building contract and the evidence trail is contractual, not optional.
Regulation 4(5) made visible: construction stays locked until you've signed.
A design change updates the PCI; affected CPP sections and RAMS flag for review — every step confirmed by a person, every version kept.
Collected progressively, handed over digitally at completion.
Appointments, sign-offs, versions, notifications — your entire client duty trail in one export. Active until completion plus 90 days.
Independent consultant reviews
A professional's eyes, whenever you want them
PCI reviews before tender, CPP adequacy reviews before your Regulation 4(5) sign-off, and pre-handover H&S file reviews. Performed by independent IOSH-registered consultants, with fixed fees set by construction value and quoted before any work starts.
Frequently asked questions
How is my project price worked out?
Your one-off fee is set by the construction value band you choose. It is fixed when you confirm project details and never goes up mid-project, even if your build costs move. The value you declare forms part of your project record and appears in your evidence pack.
Do my Principal Designer, Principal Contractor and subcontractors need their own DocRide accounts?
No. Your one fee covers the whole project team. Your PD builds the pre-construction information, your PC builds the Construction Phase Plan, and every subcontractor submits RAMS, permits and inspection records inside your project, all without paid accounts of their own. Client projects include unlimited subcontractors — Fair Usage Policy applies.
Is my project notifiable to HSE? What about the F10?
DocRide works it out from your answers: projects lasting more than 30 working days with more than 20 workers at once, or exceeding 500 person days, must be notified. If yours qualifies, DocRide drafts the F10 ready to submit and keeps it with your project record.
What is the platform mandate clause?
Ready-made wording you can paste into your building contract, requiring your Principal Contractor to run all CDM documentation, RAMS and inspection records through your DocRide project. Clients already mandate BIM platforms this way. It makes your complete evidence trail contractual rather than optional.
What if my building is a Higher-Risk Building?
Residential buildings of 18 metres or 7 storeys and above carry extra duties under the Building Safety Act: Gateway approvals, golden-thread records and regulator change control. DocRide supports these projects, and the building safety workflows are scoped with your project so nothing is missed. Larger and complex HRB schemes receive a fixed, itemised quote within one working day.
Can I get a professional to check the plan before I sign it off?
Yes. The law says construction cannot start until you are satisfied the Construction Phase Plan is adequate. An independent IOSH-registered consultant can review it before you sign, at a fixed fee set by your project's value band. PCI reviews before tender and H&S file reviews before handover are available the same way.
What happens when the design changes mid-project?
The change updates the pre-construction information, the affected sections of the Construction Phase Plan flag for review with a clear before and after, and once re-approved, any RAMS that relied on them flag in turn. Every step is confirmed by a person and every version is kept.
What happens after handover?
Download everything free, forever: documents, sign-offs, versions and your evidence pack. The H&S file belongs with the building. If you want the project to stay live in DocRide, searchable and linked to your record, it is £10 a month for projects up to £500k, £20 up to £5M and £35 up to £25M, with larger and Higher-Risk Building projects quoted. Free with any active DocRide subscription, within your plan's storage.
Do DocRide or its consultants take on my legal duties as client?
No. DocRide provides the workflow and independent IOSH-registered consultants provide competent advice, but your duties under CDM 2015 stay your own. Be cautious of anyone who claims to take that responsibility off you. What DocRide gives you is the recorded evidence that you discharged those duties properly.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
No, all prices exclude VAT. One project means one site or contract, and you confirm everything before any payment is taken.
